Modeling Policies & FAQ
Please share with me as much information as possible about what you envision for your session: The "look," setting, themes, makeup, wardrobe, date, time, who will be present, other models involved, where the images (if photography) go, etc. The more clearly we communicate, the better we can work together to create something amazing!
- Time -
All bookings must have a clearly stated start and end time, confirmed in writing.
You are hiring a professional model, not a hobbyist. That means I am dependable. I will make every effort to arrive to our session early. In the event that I am held up in traffic, or public transit is delayed and I will be late, I will make every effort to contact you with an updated ETA based on GoogleMaps. Unfortunately, even if I am late, I cannot extend the length of our session past the time we agreed upon without a clear discussion. Out of respect for other clients I may be working with later that day, if we previously agreed to finish by 2pm, I will need to pack and leave at 2pm. I expect to be paid for time worked at our agreed upon hourly rate.
Please be ready, or nearly ready to work when I arrive. You are paying for my time: Make sure you get the most out of it!
If I arrive at the time we have agreed upon, and you are not ready to work, I will not be offended, but I will expect to be paid for my time - even if that's time spent waiting for you to complete setting up.
- My Look -
I have a petite, athletic build due to my pursuit of circus arts and dance.
My hair is currently blonde, naturally wavy, and hip length. I have an undercut on my left side that is growing out, so I'll be shooting with my hair down or in a headband for the next few months.
I have two traditional earlobe piercings.
I typically have pubic hair, which is trimmed in the traditional "V" shape. I am unable to alter my pubic hair when I am currently modeling for nude works that are still in progress. If you prefer another look, please contact me, and I will let you know if a change is possible based on my current schedule.
I keep my nails short at all times. Please let me know if you have specific requests for fingernail or toenail color, or natural nails in advance.
I do not consistently wear makeup for figure modeling. Please let me know your preferences in advance.
For photography bookings, I will arrive to our shoot with "natural" makeup done, unless otherwise specified. Please feel free to request that I arrive in more elaborate makeup. I will consider more elaborate makeup requests with respect to my abilities, my safety if applicable, and the available time I have before our shoot, and will be communicative. Please let me know if I should pack fake eyelashes. I will style my hair quickly on set. Please note that I am not a professional hair stylist and will require time and professional assistance for more elaborate styles, including curls. I can also bring a long white wig, or a short purple wig.
I have tattoos in white ink on my shoulders and forearm. Sometimes I work with artists for months before they notice them. Depending on lighting, they are not visible from 10-15 feet away, are easily photoshopped, and are also easily covered with concealer to the point of invisibility upon advanced request. If you have concerns about my tattoos, please contact me for images or video of my skin with or without concealing makeup.
- Boundaries -
All photography of poses during figure and sculpture modeling sessions is prohibited except in cases of prior written contract with each photographer/artist. Photography of poses during figure modeling sessions, regardless of whether or not I am clothed, is grounds for immediate termination of the remainder of the session, with payment in full. You are creating a work of art from a live model.
I prefer to be directed verbally rather than physically moved.
Regardless of your gender, or your assistant's gender, if I am unable to alter something about my appearance or pose, please ask: "May I move your ___" and wait for me to respond before proceeding. Permission given to touch one part of my body at one time, is not permission given to touch the same or any other part of my body later in our session.
Please do not use laser pointers.
I do not shoot with toys, stuffed animals, in school girl uniforms, or in other apparel or circumstances that reference the sexualization of children.
While I do shoot as characters such as zombies, and will shoot rope bondage and other fetish material, I will not shoot scenes that depict violence against women. If you are uncertain of the difference, please reach out to me.
Please do not surprise me with requests to shoot erotic or pornographic material once I am on set.
I do not shoot with weapons that I do not know how to use. Nerf guns and SciFi weapons are acceptable, as are many bladed weapons. I have trained in Kung Fu - please do not ask me to disrespect any martial arts tradition. While I understand that you may like me to hold a sword "Just so" for a specific shot, I will not hold weapons - or other tools - incorrectly.
I will not tolerate racist, sexist, or otherwise discriminatory commentary where I work.
- Nudes -
I do not work nude when minors are present, or likely to interrupt us working.
I am primarily an art nude model, and absolutely love shooting in outdoor locations. That said, after a particularly disconcerting outdoor shoot in 2014 where the police were called, I must insist on several precautions when planning outdoor nudes:
- I expect that my safety will be your top priority during the shoot.
- If we are asked to leave a location, whether we have a right to be there or not, the shoot will cease immediately and we will leave, without question or confrontation.
- I expect for you to be able to tell me whether we will be shooting on private or public land, if we have explicit permission to shoot there or not, and what the local public indecency laws are. I am not opposed to shooting nudes in secluded outdoor locations. I do ask that you be able to tell me exactly what risks I am taking.
- Cancellation Policy -
I reserve the right to cancel a session in progress if my boundaries as listed above are not respected, and expect to be paid in full.
In the event that you need to cancel our booking ten days or less from the date we have scheduled - or if I have already booked transportation - at my discretion I will ask that a cancellation fee be paid. My standard cancellation fee is 50% of our agreed upon total for the booking. If I am able to book other work during the time of the cancelled shoot, and am able to earn more than the remaining 50%, I will reimburse the cancellation fee.
For art schools and art centers, I am happy to respond to inquiries and pencil in classes up to nine months in advance, however, I can no longer give booking priority to classes that may not run without charging a reservation fee. Reservation fees are 50% of the agreed upon total for the booking, count towards the total cost of the booking, and may be made electronically to [email protected] via paypal. Reservation fees are non-refundable. If you are not able to pay a reservation fee, I'm happy to pencil your class in, but if I receive other inquiries for confirmed classes on the same dates, I will contact you to let you know I am no longer available.
- Model Releases -
Please send electronic copies of model releases in advance of our booking for review. I will sign paper or electronic copies of releases on set upon payment for the session.
- Time For Prints/Work for Trade Requests -
I will consider trade requests in exchange for professional salon services, carpentry, and gift certificates for massage therapy from LMTs.
